Colt State Park Visitor Center and Operations Facility
Project Overview
The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (DEM) is working to improve visitor services and operations at Colt State Park. The new 11,600-square-foot facility will provide vehicle storage, offices, and workshop space for DEM Parks and Recreation and Law Enforcement staff, as well as a public reception area to support Colt State Park and nearby state park facilities.
Spring 2026 – Late 2027
- During construction, the bike path and park will remain open to the public.
- Access will remain open during construction, with traffic and safety measures in place to minimize disruption.
