Project Overview

The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (DEM) is working to improve visitor services and operations at Colt State Park. The new 11,600-square-foot facility will provide vehicle storage, offices, and workshop space for DEM Parks and Recreation and Law Enforcement staff, as well as a public reception area to support Colt State Park and nearby state park facilities.

Spring 2026 – Late 2027

  • During construction, the bike path and park will remain open to the public.
  • Access will remain open during construction, with traffic and safety measures in place to minimize disruption.

  • Design: Brewster Thornton Group Architects
  • Construction: Tower Construction Corporation
