There are lots of fun activities you can do right from your home, backyard, or neighborhood. Try some of these outdoor activities on your own or with your family!
Letterboxing in State Parks

This intriguing "treasure hunt"-style outdoor activity challenges you to find hidden letterboxes in publicly accessible places. All you need is a notepad and a rubber stamp. You'll find the clues for each letterbox at www.letterboxing.org; enter RI State Parks in the "Search by Letterbox Name" to find letterboxes in state parks. When you find the letterbox, use your stamp to leave your mark in the letterbox log book, and stamp your own log book with the letterbox stamp.
Governor's Bay Day

Celebrated on the last Sunday in July annual, Governor's Bay Day invites everyone to get outside and enjoy Rhode Island's beautiful coastline and Narragansett Bay. The first Governor's Bay Day was held in 1989 in the wake of the World Prodigy oil spill. It began as an effort to showcase the beauty and value of Narragansett Bay and to highlight the ongoing threats it faces. Today, Bay Day continues to honor this original intent with free parking at all State beaches and free recreational saltwater fishing.
